The Salt of America

My name is Nathan Vaughan Marks. This is my genealogy blog, dedicated to sharing and analyzing information on my family's ancestors. I have very deep American roots all over the country, hence my referring to my family as "The Salt of America".

About Me

My photo
Nathan
Adrian, Michigan, United States
Oklahoma native, transplanted to Michigan in high school, back to Oklahoma after college, and now back in Michigan. Proud husband and father of three boys. I love researching my family's roots, which have been firmly placed in the United States since before 1843, when my last foreign-born ancestress arrived here. My family is mostly focused around Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas, and prior to that in Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina, among other states. I particularly love exploring my ancestors' roles in the American Civil War. I will be posting some of my discoveries and adventures on here, as well as essays I write to assist other researchers. Anyone can feel free to contact me with new information or questions about mine. You can reach me at nathanvaughanmarks(at)gmail.com
